Here we have our illustrious Mr. Kendall wearing jeans, a graphic T-shirt (probably with the logo of some forgotten-yet-awesome group like The Heart Throbs or The Might Lemon Drops) and a baseball cap (same deal). Dave is clearly relaxed here, showing off the confidence of man who is content with his job of bringing you tomorrow’s music today. He’s the best.
A dapper looking Dave Kendall sporting his trademark leather jacket interviews Lush’s Miki Berenyi and Ride’s Mark Gardener.
Forget Nirvana, Kendall is the one who truly ushered in the alternative music revolution. He may not get the credit for doing so, but you know it’s true.
Dave and Alan Wilder (who looks very much like Scott Thompson here). Dave is all decked out here in his usual leather jacket/jeans while Wilder is rocking the vest look. These dudes were making the hearts of goths everywhere flutter back in the early 1990s.
Here’s a life-changing post. Dave Kendall interviews Matt Pinfield before Pinfield was the host of 120 Minutes. Matt was chilling at an industry showcase featuring a performance by Robyn Hitchcock back in 1991 and Kendall just strolled up to him and got his thoughts on the music, man. This is some serious worlds colliding/Jetsons Meet the Flintstones-style wish fulfillment stuff happening here. Check out this historic interaction here. (Via Slicing Up Eyeballs).
Then there was that time that 120 Minutes broadcast from the surface of Mars…
